Poke Baby

252_5210poke.jpg

As much as Estella helps and cares for Blaise, she battles each day a nagging curiosity about what happens when you poke the baby. Don't poke the baby.

Do Tha Puyallup

255_5538moo.jpg

A hot scone, four rides, two BBQ meals, thousands of people, hundreds of animals, tractors, hot tubs and tents. This expression captures precisely what it feels like to go to the Puyallup Fair.

For Blaise, it feels like this.

Adventure Racer

251_5188grantruns.jpg

My nephew from Ferndale completed the Bellingham Traverse and placed 9th overall in the Solo Men's Division. He was the youngest soloist and won the 18 and under age group. Way to go Grant! He ran, mountain biked, road biked, trail ran, kayaked and sprinted for a very fast time of under 4 hours. Wow.

No, no, no, no...

252_5228hearth.jpg

She interjects herself into conversation and when you misunderstand her she catches it right away. She'll stop your train of thought with a "no, no, no, no..." followed by her clarification of what she meant. It is done with a strong sense of concern in her voice and on her face.

Dark Sky Estella

253_5315darksky.jpg

This photo captures a little girl with so much more personality than I know what to do with. She is potty trained. She stops in the middle of play and says, "I go potty."

Mirror Tiny

245_4578mirror.jpg

The little guy looks tiny on my shoulder. This shot was taken in the mirror and I was taking it too seriously. You can see that the mirror could stand to be washed.

We like to call him our little monkey man on account of him looking king of like a monkey and having such long fingers and toes. He is loud too and strong. He has a snort that is so funny. When he gets frustrated, it is just "snort, snort, SNORT!" We'll have to take him to the Puyallup Fair and show him to the pigs.

Martial Artist

243_4352tokie.jpg

The next door neighbor takes martial arts training. He showed Estella a few moves. All I can say is watch out for this little ninja (warning: 3MB movie file). Take special note of her form, the tongue sticking out and the traditional costume.

Zoo Fountain

242_4275fountain.jpg

Trekking around the zoo is enough to make a two year old quite thirsty. Fortunately, the zoo sets out watering fountains for all the thirsty two year olds, including this silly one.

Estella and I went to the zoo to let mama have a bit of peace and quiet. That is if peace and quiet can be had with the new four day old snorting, screaming, writhing, sucking, confused, red faced little man (we love the little man).

Little Homie

241_4186sweeper.jpg

This is my little man, my little homie. He is the little brother. He snorts and wiggles and boy is he loud. But he is a good little sleeper.

Big Sister

240_4100estesis.jpg

Estella is a loving big sister. She doesn't quite understand how fragile the little guy is. She just wants to give him a big squeeze. When she visited to see him and mama in the hospital, she pointed to him and said, "Bring him home."

By the way Robyn is a champ! Way to go Robyn. You are amazing.

While she treats him too much like her baby dolls, I underestimate his toughness. Today the nurse had to ask me to move out of the way so she could take him out of the carseat because I was too slow and careful.

Getting Used To Air

239_3906.jpg

This little guy seems to miss the warmth of the womb. Birth must be a big shock. After the warm, weightless, wet environment, air must be disappointing.

Labor Is Tiring

240_4079bigyawn.jpg

A big yawn from a little man. Labor is tiring. Being a little guy is tough stuff.
