Legit

This evening as I was rocking her to sleep, she looked up at me and said, "My cat name Legit." Legit is her version of Electra or Eliot, our cats' names.

Ready For The Dentist

165_6518teeth.jpg
Currently, the Little One has fully 12 symmetrically arrayed baby teeth. We haven't visited the dentist yet, but, cognizant that baby teeth will be one day supplanted in favor of the more sturdy adult teeth, we are diligently teaching the art of tooth brushing. Simply getting used to the process is all we can hope for at this age. Estella is in general quite agreeable with this intrusion, and we can rely on her for some of the action, but she tends to want to bite on the toothbrush. With her brushing technique coming along well, she is happily anticipating her first visit to the dentist. When queried as to what she will do at the dentist's office, she dutifully says, "Aaaahhhhh!" We are counting on her first visit to be enjoyable, seeing how well she has prepared.
She brings the same level of enthusiasm to the doctor's offfice. Certainly their office is not a place she fears. In fact, when visiting the office, even with a waiting room full of toys, magazines, other kids and a fish tank, she makes a break for the back office exam rooms. She is unafraid of the needle and has in the past stared down the thin metal poker with nary a tear. Of course she overdramatizes the event of getting a shot when I ask her about it after the fact. For her the toughest part of getting a shot is pulling off the sticky bandaid, ouch!
PS I am posting this from Herkimer Coffee on Greenwood and 74th in Phinney Ridge.
