Walking Star

Estella is walking quite well these days. She barely ever crawls or scoots. Check out the buff arms on this baby.

She enjoyed a walk with her grandpa:

And her aunt last week:

Her aunt Jennifer has moved out to New York:

Aquarium Baby

Going to the aquarium with the baby is way different now because she can walk. Now she directs the path as we follow her gravitating to what she is interested in, what catches her eye. Her desire to more closely inspect an exhibit is conveyed through her "uh, uh!" sound.

The tide pools probably interested her most, with the sea cucumber being the most interesting because it is kind of squishy. Otherwise, we mostly watch Estella interact with the surroundings, being careful to keep her out of people's paths and safe from edges. So we went to the aquarium to watch Estella and she mostly went there to say "hi!" to everyone she meets and smack the aquarium glass.

Backyard Baby

Estella enjoys the backyard toys after swimming in her kiddie pool during another beautiful Pacific Northwest summer day.

Teething Stare

With this little stare, Estella reminds me that getting big front teeth is not all that much fun. She is reminded of the tooth pain only when she is bored. So we have been doing all kinds of activities to keep her occupied, like coloring and playing with playdough.

Another beautiful summer day full of playing outside:

Climbing stairs:

All the activity wore Estella out. She fell asleep soundly after just half a block walking in her Grandma's arms.

Dancing

She can walk and now she can dance.

The evening bath always calms her, which she needed last night because a top tooth was working its way through.

Swings And Summer

We enjoy our local park being only three blocks away. Oh, and the great summer weather. And of course the little toddler as the wife likes to call her now.

City Park

Estella still needs help on the play toys, but is brave and more agile than I thought. Here she is about to slide down a very yellow slide.
By the way, I have to write this down. She still has just the two teeth below. So when she wanted some cucumbers awhile back, Robyn cut out the center and gave her the soft part. So one of Estella's favorite foods is heart of cucumber. Silly.
Also at church, she was with Robyn singing into the microphone:

...and she grabbed on and started making baby singing sounds. Really pretty and broadcast through the speakers. We went to REI while Robyn was practicing and she climbed through all the tents...

...tried on a backpack, rode on a baby trike, tried on a bike helmet, played in the rowdy kids area and later shared a bean and cheese burrito with me.

Little Trooper

The little one is quite the trooper lately. She went along for a short trip to Leavenworth and has been great through a week of very high temperatures here in Seattle. She giggled with glee when we splashed with her in the Wenatchee River and today she walked along the shore as the little waves of Puget Sound broke at her feet.
She walked all the way to the neighbors house intent on seeing his chickens:
...this morning. She also found Mama's stash of hair clips and bands below the sink making quite a mess:
...but entertaining herself for some time.
We visited the park after she awoke from a nap while we were on a walk. I had enjoyed an americano at the local coffee spot while she snoozed. While at the park she intently watched dogs fetch balls and kids run around. She has great patience and can spend quite a time just observing things.
