Maximilian Visits

Estella's friend Maximilian visited today. They had a bunch of fun playing together. Estella was frustrated that she could not crawl like Maximilian can. He is 3 weeks older than she is. Here they are together at 1.5 months old and today.

At first Maximilian was very quiet and calm. Estella attacked him grabbing his clothes and his hair. She gave him a wet spritzer on the forehead and tried to nibble his shoulder. Once Maximilian became aware that his little play pal was attacking him, he started crawling away. This made Estella quite angry, because though she can scoot on her butt, she is no match for his swift crawling. Neither are the cats, for that matter. Maximillian chased them around the house while we played games with his mama and papa. Estella went to bed early because she was in such a sad mood. She didn't get her late afternoon nap and was frustrated by his superior crawling skills.
Check out silly baby in the bath tub.

Other than play with baby and feed the cats, my little project for the day was to baby proof the electrical outlets. That is not a difficult job because you just need the plastic guards they sell at hardware stores. However, the mess of plugs and cables and wires behind the computer was a complete hazard. So what I did was go on a walk with baby to Fred Meyer. We picked up some bolts and nuts and a large plastic ware bread container. This was just big enough to curl up the wires with cinch ties plug them in to the surge protector and stuff it all inside. I bolted the plastic container to the underside of the desk. I cinch tied the rest of the cables behind the computer and now there is no clutter on the floor, no dust catcher and nothing baby can wreck. Ahhh.
