Toofers

Nope, no toofers yet. Estella's only got gums not teeth. She has such a great toothless grin.

She is loving her little baby cookies, toast, toastie o's and all the fresh baby food mama makes for her each day. She eats yams, sweet potato, broccoli, carrots and of course bananas. Today we played a game where you build a block tower, then Estella scoots over and crashes it down.
Auntie Jennifer visited the little one tonight.
Earlier today, and just now, she slept so soundly.

Maximilian Visits

Estella's friend Maximilian visited today. They had a bunch of fun playing together. Estella was frustrated that she could not crawl like Maximilian can. He is 3 weeks older than she is. Here they are together at 1.5 months old and today.

At first Maximilian was very quiet and calm. Estella attacked him grabbing his clothes and his hair. She gave him a wet spritzer on the forehead and tried to nibble his shoulder. Once Maximilian became aware that his little play pal was attacking him, he started crawling away. This made Estella quite angry, because though she can scoot on her butt, she is no match for his swift crawling. Neither are the cats, for that matter. Maximillian chased them around the house while we played games with his mama and papa. Estella went to bed early because she was in such a sad mood. She didn't get her late afternoon nap and was frustrated by his superior crawling skills.

Other than play with baby and feed the cats, my little project for the day was to baby proof the electrical outlets. That is not a difficult job because you just need the plastic guards they sell at hardware stores. However, the mess of plugs and cables and wires behind the computer was a complete hazard. So what I did was go on a walk with baby to Fred Meyer. We picked up some bolts and nuts and a large plastic ware bread container. This was just big enough to curl up the wires with cinch ties plug them in to the surge protector and stuff it all inside. I bolted the plastic container to the underside of the desk. I cinch tied the rest of the cables behind the computer and now there is no clutter on the floor, no dust catcher and nothing baby can wreck. Ahhh.

Email Address Instability

I was very dissappointed to hear that Comcast has acquired AT&T Broadband networks in the Pacific Northwest. You may remember that not too long ago Excite@Home was running the cable broadband here. So in the course of 2 years, there will have been three different companies running the network.
The inconvenience this time will be having to change my email address AGAIN. I just heard a radio ad introducing Comcast so I browsed over to their site and found this under the FAQ:

Is it possible to keep my attbi.com e-mail address?
No, your attbi.com e-mail address will no longer work following the transition period.

So, soon I will be forced to update all my online accounts and let all my friends and family know about my new email address. How inconvenient.

Shades Of Baby

We took a roadtrip over Presidents Day weekend to Spokane with baby and my sister MJ. While there we caught up with aunts and grandma Nanny, Estella's great-grandma. She had us stay with her and we watched some old home movies and Estella, who can now pull herself up to a standing position on Nanny's coffee table. We visited aunts and cousins and had a fabulous Sunday brunch courtsey of cousin Megan. Uncle Dave inspired us to get started with our home remodeling ideas. Anyhow, we had a lot of fun.
Started home after getting coffee at the Rocket Bakery in Millwood. Later, on the road, we stopped at our halfway hiking spot in vantage. It is a series of State Park trails through brushland and hills just up from the Columbia River gorge area. Excavated petrified trees all around the trails, so the area used to be heavily forested, and we found an entire deer skeleton next to the trail! This time the sun was out and the weather chilly and windy, but beautiful. We hiked 3+ miles to get Estella out of the car and then we were on our way.

The Little People

Estella and her friend Aiden are here busy at work playing. We stopped by our neighbors house while on a walk the other night.

Little people.
Here is a picture of Estella sitting on the green grandpa chair. She is about a month and a half.

Old school Estella.
She just looked over at me as if to say, "dada why do you always point that flash box at me?"

Beautiful eyes.
Incidentally, the last couple of days have been stick your tongue out day. Estella has been so silly. Also she is mobile. She can scoot on her butt across the floor. I am trying to help her learn crawling, and she is so close, but the scooting is working and she is developing it. I test her speed by placing cheerios across the way and see how fast she scoots.

Gas Works Baby

Today we walked at Gas Works Park north of Lake Union in Seattle. The air was cold and the park was near empty but it was a great day to be there. Sun breaking through clouds painted Capitol Hill many bright shades.

New Tights

Estella has a little friend named Maximilian who visited relatives in Sweden and brought back a present for Estella. Actually his mom bought it for her, a fancy little pair of striped tights. They are so great for winter time.

Waterfront Walk

Our typical Sunday morning walk started quite early this morning. There were very few people besides us walking the Seattle waterfront's Myrtle Edwards Park. On the way back we saw a lot more joggers. I am sure this park is a great place to go if you live in Belltown. The person we saw a lot of was little Estella. She had fun looking around and seeing the colorful trains pass. We were all bundled up, but the temperature wasn't too cold. Here we are posing with water behind us. She loves her mama, here they are smiling together.

Earlier this weekend, the little one and her dada played in the kitchen.
