Sensible Transit

Would you invest in a project to build 14 mile long streetcar line that costs $2.4 billion? If you would, then go here for some common sense alternatives to this crazed madness that is Sound Transit.

Crazed madness at Sound Transit indeed. The 14 mile price is actually $2.9 billion. The full 21 miles originally promised would likely go over $7 billion, the most expensive light rail in world history. Sound Transit leaders want to build light rail no matter where it goes, what it costs, or how long it takes; they want to find a way to make the tracks fit the taxes being collected. They think light rail is necessary for a world class city, but instead we have become a world class icon of how NOT to implement transit. Fortunately, the end of the Central Link Light Rail Initial Segment project (14 miles) is coming soon, within a few months, through one of several potential actions from the Federal government or a law court. Check out the coverage online since 1996 at http://www.globaltelematics.com/pitf/. Many alternatives are posted there.
