More Dogs

In other news, up in Bellingham there are some 5 week old dogs that are pretty silly looking.

Grandpa B's Expert Auto

We do our best to keep Grandpa B busy fixing the Subaru. He does a fine job and you can't beat the price!
Today it was a busted alternator which he replaced in mid-80 degree heat, way out in West Seattle where the car was stranded. He and Grandma B had dinner with us and I caught a couple great pics with Estella of grandpa and grandma. Thanks Grandpa!!

Estella's Too Quick

Little baby Estella is quite rapidly becoming a toddler.

The supply detail has issued her a new batch of diapers and larger size clothing. From her end of things we hear more cooing, see her holding her head up strongly, sticking one or both hands in her mouth, bubbles, sleeping through the night, smiling, etc.
The pace of change is exceedingly fast and moments, even those I consciously soak up, are fleeting. Just a month ago, I held a lightweight, skinny newborn and today I look into the big, round, inquisitive eyes of a 4 pound heavier baby who knows I am her Dada.

She needs a lot of loving attention, each moment of which is very rewarding. Her smiles are small treasures and her squeeks and squeals are adorable. She is simply lovely. Tonight when I kissed her goodnight, she let out a little baby girl sigh - painfully precious.
I love everything she does (except when she pees on me), especially these two things. One of them is a funny embarrassed smile that she pulls when I talk right at her, give her tummy a tickle and smile at her. She smiles sheepishly and looks away as if she were shy. Quite possibly the funniest, most precious string of Estella events is when she wakes up. If you have a chance watch this process. It is so wonderful. Remember, for Estella sleeping is hard work; she is growing. That is why she has to stretch so much.

Growing Baby

Estella is growing so fast it is hard to recognize her in the morning, just kidding. She is intent on seeing everything right now. While walking around the garden, she wants to be facing out to see all the sights. She has a peculiar favorite way of being put to sleep. I hold her in a low slung inverse craddle style hold. I'll have to post a picture of what I mean, but in short it is a cradle hold with her on her belly.

She was talking to her great grandma in this picture as she attended her grandma C's Nordstrom All-Star award where her aunts thought they should win something for this pose.
I didn't want to share this picture, but oh well. It is not her most flattering picture.

She Was Once One Week Old

Remember this little baby? She was just one week old, no more tubes, but still in the hospital. She was 7lbs 14oz and is now 12lbs. What a baby!

The Lost Art

Antique stores sell 3D photo viewers that are 100+ years old. Why has the idea gone out of style? Here you can purchase a 3D photo taking camera and viewer. Very neat. It is of course easy enough to make a 3D picture that fits into an antique viewer.

Are You Rude?

It is always good to brush up on your manners and remember how to be kind and gentle in social situations. Read this article and then this article for a humorous revisitation of the rather pathetic current state of etiquette. This quote is especially disquieting:
"Not caring what other people think has become uncomfortably fashionable."

Buying Organic And Digital Photos

Organic food. Ahh the purity, the innocence...the scam?!? Read here to see that if you aren't careful what kind of organic you buy, you could be eating extremely energy inefficient, labor intensive food.
There may be hope for my digital photographs to eventually look as good as analog, old school silver process pictures. Apparently Polaroid has a new way of converting digital to developed without having to print using ink on photopaper. Or maybe it is simply a new type of photographic capture - dispensing with the silver ion film?
See for yourself, both - thanks to Gulfstream.

Too Many Photos

I have way too many pictures to show you. When Estella was born my camera had registered 2304 images. Today I captured number 3800. Wow. Can you believe how big she is?!? Already standing (hehe).
But seriously, what this means is that I have a so much to share, so little time, bandwidth and organization. So just to get started I threw together two galleries.
The first gallery is a bunch of random Estella pictures from weeks 7, 8 and 9. By the way she just turned 2 months old on the fifth.
Gallery number 3 is a collection of pictures shot a couple weeks ago of Robyn's brother's new, week old puppies (Golden Retriever). Let me know if you want to buy one.
Check out the pictures and once I get some semblence of order, I will perhaps even annotate them and post more...later.

Remember The Newborn

Take a second and remember that this little baby used to be 2-3 pounds lighter and really delicate. Look at the littlest Clappstar when she first was home.
