Sunset Baby

The weather has been beautiful lately. Robyn has planned almost every night to catch the sunset from a different vista in Seattle. The top bar image above is from those outings. Baby has seen quite a few spectacular sunsets. How can you miss an opportunity for a majestic sunset?

My Baby And Me

Dad and baby got some bonding time last night. Initially Estella was having a grand old time, hanging out with dear old dad.
But then the bottom lip started to quiver and a second later...WHAA! After the theatrics, she settled down and we took a walk around the yard, I talked and sang to her and she eventually fell asleep. That lasted almost long enough for momma to get home.
The other night, Estella was showing us her new roll over trick when she paused for a while. Totally content, she just started lounging, propped up on her elbows, head high just looking around.

You just have to be there for some of these events to see how cute she is. This picture (145kb) captures the moment pretty well. Click here to see it (may take a couple seconds) - P.S. It fits 1024x768 pixel screen background image. Right click on the picture to save it to your computer.

Doll Baby

Estella has been hard at work. She can roll from her front to back. It is really quite funny to watch. The secret is to use the momentum of her head. You oughta see it! She is looking like quite a little lady or a little doll baby. Watch how she sits in her Great Grandpa's big green chair. She loves to hear sounds and music. Mostly lots of talking from a big animated face. I get right up close to her and sing a song. When I do, this is what she looks like to me. Today I took my little baby to Starbucks while Momma was teaching piano lessons. How about that, an outing with her papa. : )

Cooing And Babbling

Estella is showing us lately that she is learning to imitate and make sounds. Learn more about babies development from some short, very informative articles from the Talaris Institute.

Something To Say

Estella is simply wonderful. She is my evening star and my morning sunbeam. When she wakes up she stretches from all the growing she just did. Her neck smells so distinctly baby-like. Listen to her make lovely little baby sounds.

Adventurous Baby

Estella has had some big days full of adventure since this last weekend. On Friday, we watched the sunset behind the Olympics from our vantage point at Carkeek Park. It was her first sunset.
Saturday night found us trekking all over Discovery Park trying to find a good paved trail to get over to the bluff. We never found it, and ended up down at the beach below the bluff, which was fun. There, all alone, we watched another majestic sunset.
We had dinner at great-grandma's house (we call her Gaba) on Sunday and (baby) slept through church.
Yesterday we went out to Enumclaw to visit Robyn's cousin and her four kids. That was a crazy trip. Robyn and Estella picked me up from work and even after leaving town early, the traffic, getting lost, stopping to feed, massive diaper meltdown and lost pacifier made for a long ride. Thankfully, Robyn's playful laugh defused the situation and as we drove on giggling about it the rest of the way.

What Baby Has To Say

Okay, Estella wanted me to post something from her point of view, so here it is:
happy
"Hey Dad, here is a picture of me with your sisters, mom and grandma. I like pictures, but why do you always point it right in my face? Sometimes all these pictures make me tired. So, dad, quit typing on the computer while I am trying to sleep."

Baby Meets the Family

Baby got to meet her cousins last weekend. Here are super cute pictures of them holding her alone and with their mom (baby's aunt). Oh, and here is Robyn and her brother with baby.

Happy 4th of July

Little baby Estella is getting so big each day. She loves to hear music and is even starting to do some baby talk herself.
Look at her big tummy. Riding in the car isn't her favorite thing, but here she is happy. After she eats, she is out, totally asleep and content, with a spot of milk on her lip. She has been very interested in faces of late, and likes to hear the baby talk. Sometimes it even brings a grin to her face. She is a delight!
Happy 4th of July!
