Working in the lab

Working in the lab can be lonely and monotonous sometimes. The little E. coli cells don't keep you company and NPR can be a bit vexing after the pledge drive. So I bring out the old digital camera and turn a simple experience into photo-journalist documentary art. Check out the research associate at work.

When I am not manipulating E. coli I take care of
My Christmas cactus which bloomed early this year and is beautiful.

I just water it more in winter time, especially when it starts budding. It needs 12 hours plus of darkness at night to get it to start budding. Mine is in its third Christmas time. : )

WOW, I can't believe all your large blooms. It's beautiful. And here I was admiring my little Christmas cactus at work. It's a pretty pink, but it has only 2 large blooms of a half dozen buds, so it doesn't hold a candle to yours. Last year, mine didn't bloom at all, so I almost through it out especially after ignoring it for awhile. But now, it has somewhat redeemed itself. You definitely have a green thumb! Any tricks?
