Get out and see the salmon

Hurry...they are swimming fast. Check out where in the King/Pierce County area you can see them swimming upstream.

This year (2002) the salmon were in Carkeek Park streams around the first week of December. Estella and I made our way down to see them a couple times, also with Robyn once. They are chum salmon and most seem about two plus feet and maybe 6 to 10 lbs. It was a sight to see salmon working their way in pretty shallow small stream conditions. Now, two weeks later, the stream is totally full and rushing due to all the rain. But when the main salmon run was on, the stream in spots was only inches deep.
