City chickens beware

I stood in the 4th floor open stairwell of my building and patiently watched the trees and building across the street for any sign of Mr. Falcon. Sure enough that is his domain, for no more than a minute after watching the trees out fly some city chickens and soaring behind is the peregrine falcon. This time he also missed his prey, but flew over to the Puget Sound Blood Center building and perched for awhile. He is long but quite skinny. Taller than a pigeon but not as fat. Now to figure out where his nest is...

Falcon vs. city chicken

This morning on the way to work a bunch (20) pigeons flew out of a tree in a panic, flying all different directions. Out of the commotion of the tree came a swift pursuer with a great wing span and a banded tail. The falcon followed the group of scared city chickens until they fragmented and all took their own direction as they approached the building across from the tree. The falcon pulled a couple awesome tight turns but the group he followed flew through a tree and around the corner of the building fast enough for the falcon to call off the attack. He swooped down in front of me and then up to a branch where he caught his breath, looked around and a minute later darted with a couple big wing flaps up and over the tree and off into the city. I suppose the falcon was a foot and a half tall standing on the branch with a 3 + foot wingspan. Healthy looking feathers. I saw this character just off Madison and Boren Ave in Seattle (this is just about 5 blocks east of the downtown skyscrapers). Quite a spectacular show!

Upcoming release - Clappstar v3.0

If you didn't already figure out yesterday's poor attempt at a cryptic announcement, here it is:

ROBYN IS GOING TO HAVE A BABY

The doctor said to not make many plans for next May, cause that is when the baby will be delivered. I am hoping they use a reputable service like Fed Ex or something.
We are *shocked* - I mean super excited!! When the nurse came in with a grin talking about two red lines and how that means it's positive the room suddenly got very quiet, jaws dropped. Robyn made it more real and lightened the mood when she looked down at her belly, embraced the area in which the baby is growing and said, "Hello baby!"
My initial feelings are ones of complete awe and a sudden urge be very protecting of Robyn. We have a new valuable life growing within our responsibility. 'Tis amazing. Three is a magic number.
Thanks, God! :)

Tragedy of September 11th

The country and world is in a state of shock. The World Trade center was destroyed by two airplanes, killing up to 5000 people. Two other planes crashed, one into the Pentagon, killing another 300 or so.
Friday was a day of Remebrance and Prayer. The images swirl in my head every minute...people trying to find loved ones, people held hostage in a plane turned missile, the crashing down of a building containing thousands of people, etc. I have a deep anxiety about the days to come.
