Last game and $2.50 Guinness
FC Sure Shot completed summer season tonight with a hard fought tie against one of the top teams in Men's Division #1 Co-Rec Soccer. After the game a small core group of us headed to the Easy Street for a brew and to reflect on our 2-6-2 season. Matt inhaled their yummy meatloaf and mashed potato dinner.

My first workday at school...
A meeting all morning and then a lunchtime walk around Greenlake was how I spent my first day back at Wedgwood Elementary School.

Aloha brunch, Grandmapalooza, lake time and teacher time...
Great weekend, beautiful weather. Saturday said bon voyage to a co-worker of 4+ years who is going into Naturopathic Medical School at Bastyr University. Best brunch I've been to...then we cruised the Madrona area for homes for sale. Later met Jennifer at Nordstroms after her shift and went over to north side of Mercer Island for a swingin' party at someone's grandma's house. Pool, jet skis, food, shuffleboard, DJs, out-house and Grandma's house...sweet! Finished off the weekend with half the day sitting by the lake (while the girls skied) reading and watching a sharp-shinned hawk and a red-tailed hawk fly over the lake...one of them dove down for a fish. Cool. Later went way out east of Kent for a back to school BBQ for Wedgwood Elementary teachers and staff.
Oh, check it out, Yo. This is my last week of being 26...

Working on the site
I've spent a lot of time making the site look decent. Sometimes I think it isn't worth it. For all the time I spend making information available through the net, I could talk to people face to face, share real pictures, real anecdotes. The world wide web is a time bandit.

Forest Service Trail Use Fees...
Write your congressman or senator and tell them that paying $5 a day for the great outdoors is lame. Need convincing?
Go here and here. I am way lower impact than a herd of sheep, why should I cost more.

Water Skiing and Frogs
At Gravelly Lake with the Family...Mom, Jennifer, Robyn, Caroline, Melissa and Sarah are the only people who got behind the boat. I was the driver for the day. Nice summer day...aaahh beautiful August.
Yesterday went to the Everett Aquasox (a frog silly logo) game last night after FC Sure Shot got blasted (Robyn had to babysit). Met Dad, Caroline, Melissa, Jeffrey and Sarah and got to meet Terry, the team manager/coach, Dad's cousin. Jay Buhner was on hand for a rehab game and he hit a home run. Cool family atmoshpere. The players mingle with the crowd after the game. Lots of fun.

Wiffle ball
Should have been working, but it was the final game of a three game series. Matt and I vs. Roger and Roger. They took game one (6-2) and we won game two (12-5). Gametime was 4:35 and I had just finished getting a protein gel going. The game was a long one, extra innings. But we pulled it out. Oh by the way we are playing at work in the loading dock area. We have worked out areas that if hit to constitute a foul, single, double, triple and home run. In game one both Rogers hit it over the fence into the bike cage. Game two I blasted one over the grate on the West Field. Today was a pitchers dual. What a way to cap a great day of work. Wiffle Ball is a blast! Get your bat and ball online.

My old brother
Sarah must think her brother is really old. Well I am a lot older than her. A half generation removed. We connected well on Tuesday despite this kid named Jeffrey following us around. After work I came home to find Jeff and Sarah and two frightened cats.
We went downtown in the Saab and parked the Saab near Stewart and 7th for free. We walked to the Mariners store on 4th and Stewart and scored Jeffrey a sweet $1.09 deal on an old style Angels baseball cap. We then swerved through shopping traffic and street musicians and panhandlers to Nordstroms to look for Jennifer. No sign and late for movie so we walked the plank over to Pacific Place and bought tickets to Osmosis Jones. Bill Murray looks gross and gets sick. The movie is about the cartoon band of cells that make up his body and their fight to rid him of infection and improve his health. We laughed, but it is a hard one during which to eat...
After the movie we went to Barnes and Noble and Sarah got a drawing book and I got Understanding USA infographic book.
Anyway it was a lot of fun...we came home and had waffles and went to bed. Still, they must think I am a pretty old guy to be their brother.
